I just moved into this house last April, so almost a year now. It had great raised gardens in the back but NOTHING planted. I'll share some photo's of it before and after last year and then this year. I just love perennials! I already have TONS of Oriental Poppies coming up that I grew from seed last year. Try those... I probably have 15 of them and I had to thin to that number.

I didn't know that rabbits didn't like Columbines. I will add that to my list of "things I CAN put in the front yard!" My DH has "BUNNY PROOFED" our back yard! I wish I could get them to last longer, it seems like you have to start with fresh columbine plants every few years.

I LOVE your Columbine photo. They are one of my absolute favorites - and the rabbits don't like them at all! These tips are fantastic, I think I need to consider getting outside this weekend with a clean up the winter mess kind of plan. Thanks for sharing.

Your post reminds me how much I have to do. LOL! We moved a year ago and didn't start a real garden at the new house yet. I need to find a place for it. I would love to have fresh chives and tomatoes again.
